Whole Child Learning
At Notre Dame Elementary School, we believe in nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Our dynamic programs, activities, and support systems foster an enriching environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential.
We provide a safe and nurturing environment beyond the classroom with our Extended Care Program, which runs daily until 6pm. Students can participate in fun activities, games, crafts, or focus on homework in a supportive atmosphere.
Spiritual growth is an essential part of life at NDE. The school gathers for mass or prayer services, deepening their faith and connection to our community. We also teach the importance of giving back through school-wide donation drives that support local charities and service initiatives.
Our students stay active and engaged through a variety of team sports, including baseball, volleyball, track and field, and basketball. Every grade also participates in PE classes that emphasize physical fitness, teamwork, and a lifelong love for health and wellness.
We offer a diverse range of extracurricular activities, including AMC 8 math club, robotics club, yearbook club, and Electivity classes like Legos, taekwondo, soccer, flag football, and more. Students can also participate in our Power Hour after school, a dedicated time once a week for grades 3-8 to focus on homework, study, or enjoy a quiet space for academic work.
Through the Friendzy program integrated into our religion curriculum, we equip students with the tools to build healthy friendships, manage emotions, and develop empathy. Our Buddy Program pairs upperclassmen with younger students, fostering meaningful relationships through collaborative projects and activities, such as reading together and working on mini-projects.
We tailor our academic offerings to meet students where they are. Our advanced math program allows students who excel to take high school-level math at Notre Dame Belmont High School, setting them up for future academic success. Spanish and music classes are taught to all grades, ensuring a well-rounded curriculum that embraces both creativity and global understanding. Through Makerspace classes, students from every grade engage in hands-on learning that promotes innovation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
