The Environmental Protection Agency for Kids, with tons of info on the environment providing a great resource for children. www.freecycle.org This network is made up of and thousands of groups and members worldwide for people who are giving and getting things for free in their own towns and therefore reducing the waste that goes into landfill. This great website gives great info about the ocean at large and how it affects the health of the planet. Each year they provide detailed info on “International Coastal Clean-up Day” which is a huge worldwide event and the largest of its kind. Over 76 countries are involved and millions of pounds of trash are retrieved from oceans and waterways and recorded.

WWF

The World Wildlife Fund does so much good for the animal kingdom and brings awareness to how the loss of species affects our planet. Check out this website if you would like to adopt or sponsor an animal on the endangered list. There are over 90 species to choose from with prices starting from $25.00. In return you or the recipient will receive a photo of the animal and an adoption certificate!

UNICEF

Unicef does so much for third world countries and children around the world from vaccinating against disease through to funding educational programs and everything else in between. When you next send an e-card consider sending one through Unicef which will have real impact! By paying $1.50 a card you will also provide 50 syringes to immunize 50 children. 5 cards costing you $7.00 will purchase a long lasting mosquito net protecting a family from Malaria.
