General Guidelines
To provide a comfortable learning atmosphere for your children, we ask parents to assist us by complying with the following guidelines:
Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. Children should be at school at least five minutes before the bell rings.
Because we are very concerned about the safety of our families, we ask you to please comply with traffic regulations when bringing children to and from school—especially in our parking lot.
Since the teacher’s first responsibility is to the students, we ask that arrangements for consultations be made outside class time not during class.
Children may leave school only if they have a written note from a parent or guardian. When children return to school after being absent, they should bring a written explanation. (State School Code)
Please see that all personal belongings have identification. The lost and found is emptied on the last Friday of each month and unmarked items are given to charity.
Since there is no one on yard duty after school, we ask that children leave school by 12:45 p.m. (Monday) or 3:00 p.m. (Tuesday through Friday). After these times, students will go to Newton Center Aftercare at a charge of $10 per child. Each additional hour will be an additional charge of $10 per child.
Mixed parties are not allowed for Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8.
