Sports Program Guidelines

Notre Dame Elementary is a member of the Peninsula Parishes School League (PPSL). The purpose of the PPSL is to create an atmosphere of cooperation, friendly competition, and good sportsmanship among the San Mateo County Catholic schools.

NDE offers the following sports:

Sport Season Grade levels eligible Gender
Baseball Fall 4th through 8th Boys
Volleyball Fall 4th through 8th Girls
Basketball Winter 4th through 8th Boys
Basketball Winter 4th through 8th Girls
Track and Field Spring 5th through 8th Boys/Girls

Students in 4th grade sports will participate in a "training league". Score is not kept during game, with a focus on skill Trackdevelopment.

All teams are parent coached. Parent coaches are required to take the "Shield the Vulnerable" online course. All coaches are also required to be "Live Scanned" through the SMCOE.

Fees are charged for each sport to cover the cost of renting sites for game locations. Uniforms are issued by NDE at the start of each season and collected at the end of each season. Families will be billed for any uniform lost or damaged.

Please note that all NDE athletes must have teacher approval prior to being placed on a team. A student who misses school on Friday may not participate in any school related events (including games and/or practices) during the following weekend. Any student receiving a “3” in conduct or effort on their report card may be suspended from NDE team sports participation until improvement is noted and the student receives written permission from his/her classroom teacher. Please see the handbook for the code of Christian conduct.
