Admission Information

First grade applicants for the 2011-2012 school year:angels

  • must be born before September 1, 2005
  • must take the new student entrance test

Second-sixth grade applicants for the 2011-2012 school year:

  • must submit a copy of their current report card
  • must submit test scores (Iowa Test, STAR, etc.)
  • must take the new student entrance test

Please note: Submission of the application form does not guarantee entrance to NDE. Parents of applicants will be notified after the faculty and principal have evaluated the applicant's records. NDE is a Catholic School; priority for admission will be given to Catholic children.

Steps to Apply

  • Call NDE to book a school tour (optional).
  • Download and complete the application packet.
    • Applications for the 2011-2012 school year will be accepted from October 19, 2010 through February 22, 2011.
    • Applications and the application fee can be mailed to NDE or dropped off in the main school office.
  • Provide a copy of the student evaluation form to your child's current teacher.
  • Second through sixth grade applicants must submit their most recent Iowa or STAR test results with their application.
  • Attend the NDE Open House (optional). No reservations required.
  • Applicant must attend the new student test session on February 26.
    • Testing takes place at NDE at 8:30 a.m.
    • Reservations are not required if an applicant's application and application fee were submitted prior to the February 22, 2011 deadline.
  • Parents of applicant may be invited for an interview with the NDE school principle at NDE.
  • Acceptance letters will be sent by regular mail.
    • A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the student's position for the 2011-12 school year.
    • The deposit is applied toward tuition.
    • NDE must receive the deposit before the deadline specified in the acceptance letter.
