Notre Dame Elementary, an independent Catholic school, is committed to developing the whole child in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. It is a Christian learning community that focuses on love of God and creation, love of country, and love and respect for one another as children of God.
Notre Dame Elementary School offers students an environment in which they are challenged and develop their academic and spiritual potential and in which needs are recognized and served. A specialized curriculum helps the students work at their own pace and become responsible for their own work. We strive to motivate each child to become self-disciplined, confident learners.
NDE provides activities that are both fun and great learning experiences. Student-run events include monthly spirit days, sports rallies, a spring faire, a harvest festival, and "Viking Vision" (an NDE student-run newscast). There is an active student council run by 8th graders providing an opportunity for students to learn leadership skills.
The NDE faculty is a group of well-trained, highly skilled professionals. The majority of our full-time teachers have postgraduate master's degrees and/or advanced credentials. Each classroom has a minimum of one full-time and one part-time credentialed teacher with a student ratio of 15:1.
